About Dress for Success

Dress for Success is an international non-profit organization founded in New York City in 1997 with the goal of providing economically disadvantaged women with attire necessary to appear professional at a job interview or in the work place. After being referred and participating in an interview with Dress for Success, a woman can receive a suit or separates appropriate for her industry. This becomes the base for a woman to have a successful interview, get a job, remain employed, and achieve the ultimate goal of becoming self-sufficient. The cornerstone for Dress for Success is its retention programs such as a transition support group (Professional Women's Group program) and a Career Center to provide assistance and guidance. Dress for Success relies on financial contributions, in-kind donations, and volunteers.
